“Stories Move Culture”

Most of what passes for “content” these days is disposable. Made fast, optimized for whatever invisible math decides what people see today, and forgotten about five minutes later.

That never interested me much.

I’m Kennyatta, and what I care about are the stories that stick. The ones rooted in culture, in places, in the messy, contradictory reality of how people actually live, work, and make things.

So this is where I put those stories.

Curiosity: How have I grown since Kim and I first worked together?
Category: Photography

I met Kim for the first time while working with Dolls Kill during my chapter in Los Angeles. Off energy alone she was exactly what Dolls Kill was going for at the time and her background as a performer made connecting over the different in-house brands much easier. We agreed to do a photoshoot then over a mutual desire to collaborate and create with a promise to stay in contact after because she was based in Miami at the time.

Fast forward almost four years later and we’ve reconnected again to photograph a few swimsuits and casual looks on a weekday in Miami. This would be our fourth photoshoot together and arguably our best one yet.
